Jebel Ali-based furniture manufacturing company, Commercial Furnishings Inc. (CFI) is looking to expand its regional presence through its participation at The Hotel Show. In addition to its depot in Dubai, the company has an alliance in Doha Qatar, with M/s. Al Mana Maples, and is looking to enter into partnership with other operations in Kuwait and Lebanon. “The Middle East market is our main target. Although our brands have been represented on the retail front for many years through various distributors, we only established our regional commercial representation in March 2004 and have secured a solid reputation in a very short period,” says Mohamad Bakir, managing director, CFI. “We were the first to introduce a five- year warranty to the commercial market in the territory last year, and this year we backed it up with our after-sales service throughout the warranty,” he adds. CFI is the regional commercial representative for a number of furniture manufacturers, including Thomasville, Hickory Chair, HBF, Maitland-Smith, and La Barge. The company is using its Hotel Show presence to introduce its new brands to the market, under the theme “Come Meet The Masters”. The new brands include Theodore Alexander, Drexel Heritage, Henredon and the South African Manufacturing Consortium. In support to the “Masters” brands, CFI has pooled together a consortium of South African furniture manufacturers to work collectively under one roof in targeting the MENA territory.
