Saudi based distributor of advanced technology products, solutions and services, Al-Jammaz Telecom, believes its presence at Gitex Saudi Arabia this week will be the crowning moment of a financially strong 12-months. The company specialises in networking, data and voice communications, wireless mobility and broadband access. It sees the event as a great place to meet industry figures and do business. “Gitex Saudi Arabia is a place where the public attends and at the same time we have a lot of our resellers who attend to watch and get an update on the new technologies,” says Sam Lutfallah, sales & marketing director at Al-Jammaz Telecom. Through its partner channel, Al-Jammaz Telecom serves the financial, industrial, education, hospitality, healthcare and government sectors. Product offerings include products and solutions from global suppliers including Cisco Systems, Linksys, Alcatel, Patton, DataValet, Pronto Networks, Thomson, Larscom, Optical fibre, Nensh, and Saifor. “It has been a great year with our suppliers on wireless,” Lutfallah says. “We grew our sales on wireless product by 300% which has not been recorded anywhere else in the Middle East market. The Saudi market has huge capacity, great opportunities, big space and we were able to take this brand/product from zero to be the number one leading product,” he adds. Building on this success, Al-Jammaz is using this week’s show to help communicate the growing importance of IP telephony. “We are also expanding more on the wireless technologies that we have and VPN security. So these are the main areas we are focusing on at Gitex Saudi Arabia with our vendors, whether it is Cisco, Linksys or Alcatel,” Lutfallah says. Broadband is another area of focus for Al-Jammaz Telecom at today’s show. The company prides itself in being able to keep pace with the demands of telecom and networking technologies in the Kingdom. “Everybody that is at Gitex Saudi Arabia has specific objectives, and one of ours is not only for visibility but it’s also for support, demonstrations of advanced technologies and to be closer to the resellers and hunt for leads and new opportunities,” Lutfallah says. And Al-Jammaz Telecom is among a growing band of repeat Gitex exhibitors that are now looking to benchmark the leads they generate from participating in the event. “Last year we also participated but certainly this year we’ll be doing things a little different,” Lutfallah explains. “In the past, basically we just did the follow-up, but this year we intend not only to do the follow-up but we will be able to do some sort of matrix to be able to measure the return on the investment of being at the show,” he adds.
