Panduit has released the TX6 10Gig copper cabling system, which the vendor claims is a synergistic combination of new connectors and cable delivering a true, end-to-end 10 Gigabit Ethernet solution. The solution consists of TX6 10Gig jack modules, TX6 10Gig copper cable, TX6 10Gig patch cords, DP6 10Gig patch panels, and GP6 PLUS punchdown system. Panduit says each component features innovative complementary design technologies that work together to achieve best-in-class 10 Gbytes/s performance. Furthermore, the vendor claims the modular and scalable TX6 10Gig provides a cost effective media, which meets the growing demand for high bandwidth data centre, workstation and emerging web-enabled applications. With the 10Gigabit standard not yet ratified, Panduit is trying to quell doubts over the reliability of copper-based 10Gigabti solutions. The TX6 10Gig is supported by a 25-year system warranty. Panduit says the system provides certified performance in a 4-connector channel up to 100 metres and exceeds the requirements of the 10Gigabit Draft 1.0 amendment to IEEE’s Std. 802.3an, dated October 2004. The interoperable components work together to suppress Alien NEXT while providing Class E/Category 6 augmented electrical performance beyond 500MHz.
