Storage area network (SAN) infrastructure vendor Brocade outlined the massive potential of the storage networking market in the Middle East to local representatives from its OEM partners and potential end-users during a recent event in Dubai. Brocade is currently in the process of establishing a regional office and expects to boost Middle East sales 60% this year. “We strongly believe in the importance of educating our OEM partners, their own channel, and our customers to ensure that they are up to speed with the latest developments in the SAN space in terms of technology, benefits and support. Brocade provides this in the form of training workshops, seminars, road shows, as well as technical support,” said Khalid Khalil, regional manager, Greece, Turkey and MEA at Brocade. “SAN is an important investment for businesses to make as it lies in the heart of utility computing and information lifecycle management. It follows that Brocade’s solutions, are at the cornerstone of every server consolidation, helping businesses to enhance their productivity as we all know that performance has a direct impact on revenue,” he added. “The Middle East region as in other markets around the world is witnessing an evolution in Storage Networks and enabling utility computing. So, there’s no better time than now, for being here on the ground, to further support our partners in the region,” continued Khalil. Brocade remains committed to an indirect sales model working closely with 23 OEM partners who sell and support its solutions worldwide. Brocade contends that phenomenal growth in data storage requirements coupled with a need for data availability and reduced storage costs is driving demand for advanced storage networking solutions.
