API World Tower is likely to be the next skyscraper on Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road to be swathed in a giant hoarding, after the sale of rights to advertise on the building. Dubai-based outdoor media group, Hills Advertising, told Arabian Business that it has secured a deal to use the tower’s façade for a huge commercial sign after two and a half months of negotiations. Hills’ recent installation of a 6000 square metre display for Dubai Holding on Sheikh Zayed Road’s 21st Century Tower – the tallest ad in the world – is said to have helped persuade API World Tower’s owners to allow their building to be used. They are also believed to have sold the rights for between AED 1 million and AED 2 million (US$270,000 and US$540,000) per year.
