Jazeera Airways, the first privately owned airline in the Middle East, announced that ticket sales will commence on the 29th August 2005 for flights starting in October 2005. The newly established Kuwaiti airline will initially provide flights from Kuwait to Dubai, Beirut, Bahrain Damascus, Amman, Luxor and Alexandria. Marwan Boodai, Chairman of Jazeera Airways, said; “The choice to launch in October is based on the decision to start by flying two Airbus A320 aircrafts owned by Jazeera currently being manufactured in Toulouse, France. The other two Jazeera A320 aircrafts will be delivered in 2006. We were in negotiations with alternative suppliers to lease two A320 aircrafts until the Jazeera owned brand new planes were ready for our October launch. We realized however that leasing aircrafts that do not meet our set standards would have meant compromising the product we intend to offer our customers. "Our priority is to ensure the best service from day one – a promise we can keep by flying only Jazeera owned aircrafts". Mr. Boodai added, "Jazeera owned aircrafts represent our first step in delivering a new style of travel to the Middle East. Our A320 aircrafts will offer leather seats, inflight audio and video featuring the latest music, news and entertainment and more overhead storage space than any other aircraft in its class. We will offer a wide range of great quality snacks and drinks all at affordable prices, as well as one of the most exciting range of inflight sales products in the air. The introduction of our Jazeera Plus cabin will also offer our business travellers a more affordable product that still gives a bit more space to work or relax, a bigger checked and hand-baggage allowance as well as dedicated check-in desks.” Central to Jazeera’s current ambitions are direct customer relations, innovative communications and an effective and targeted sales service. Working on a straightforward service model, Jazeera Airways will offer genuine value for money fares, substantially lower than people are paying today. The pricing structure will be very rational, with none of the annoying rules normally associated with buying an airline ticket – people will understand what they are paying for and why. Mr. Boodai states, “Customers will have never found booking an airline ticket as convenient or simple as booking with Jazeera Airways. Whether you are booking online at jazeeraairways.com, or using our unique mobile booking service developed with Wataniya, dialling our customer support team on 177 or using a local Travel Agent, our customers will be able to book a ticket quickly and easily - where and when it suits them”. Mr. Boodai concluded; “We will present passengers a real choice, a choice to do more – travel more, spend more on other things. Who can resist that? Jazeera Airways will transform the way we travel in the Middle East. We are pleased with the progress we have made so far, the most critical of which is that the delivery of our first two aircrafts is on track for our launch in October 2005. We look forward to welcoming you on board in October”.
