IBM Middle East has announced the unveiling of the latest version of its software portfolio to deliver the industry’s sole content and information integration platform. The enhanced portfolio includes ‘IBM DB2 content manager 8.3’, ‘IBM DB2 document manager 8.3’ and ‘IBM DB2 CommonStore 8.3’. The aim is to extend the reach of content management using web services, resulting in the capturing, managing and searching of all types of data as part of normal business process. This, in turn, leverages information across diverse repositories, providing a single view of business critical information. The company has added to its 160+ industry-specific content management solutions. New offerings for the banking and life sciences industries will help enable its customers in the region to leverage their data and meet changing regulatory compliance demands. “We're further enabling our Middle East customers to leverage all types of data with simplified and unified management of both structured and unstructured content,” states Bashar Kilani, manager of software group, IBM Middle East, Egypt and Pakistan. “IBM is enabling the power of content management software to be seamlessly applied across the entire IT environment and linked to common end-user applications to enrich business transactions,” he adds. The new software, in addition, allows improved performance and integration of Project Cinnamon, part of the company's effort to improve the efficiency and speed with which XML documents are processed. The technology also delivers automated indexing and searching capabilities. This provides better control over structured and unstructured data repositories, making it easier for end users to store and manage content.
