Aten has released its line IP-based family of remote server management solutions to the Middle East market. Aten says these enterprise solutions are ideal for companies with branch locations such as banks, government offices, as well as ISPs, ASPs, and data centres. The PN9108 Power over the NET is a control unit that provides remote power management for eight AC outlets via a TCP/IP connection, allowing administrators to control the power off, power on, and reboot status for each attached device from any computer connected to the internet, whether down the hall, or half way around the world. The SN0108/SN0116 Serial over the NET provides remote serial access to a maximum of eight (SN0108) or sixteen (SN0116) servers or other serial IT devices such as hubs, routers and power management devices. Via a TCP/IP connection, up to sixteen users can logged in simultaneously from any computer connected to the internet. The Serial over the NET may be accessed by LAN, WAN and dial-up or a direct terminal connection. Out of Band Configuration (OOBC) also allows administrators to use the RS-232 interface to access SN0108/SN0116. Through this application, administrators can manage all the devices attached to the SN0108/0116 locally or through dial in modem access. “A key benefit of our new enterprise solutions is its accessibility through the internet from any PC with a web browser and its compatibility with existing KVM Switches. This offers a true, multi-platform solution for remote server management,” says Kevin Chen, CEO of Aten. “The growing demand for remote server management is mirrored by fast growing broadband network and the increased worldwide shipments of IP-based KVM solutions,” he adds.
