Lebanese MP dies from injuries sustained in Beirut blast

Lebanese Member of Parliament Bassel Fleihan died Monday from injuries he sustained in the blast that killed former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri on February 14, according Lebanese parliament speaker Nabih Berri.

Lebanese Member of Parliament Bassel Fleihan died Monday from injuries he sustained in the blast that killed former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri on February 14, according Lebanese parliament speaker Nabih Berri. "Parliament speaker Nabih Berri and members of parliament announced the death of former Economy Minister and legislator Dr. Bassel Fleihan, who died today," said a brief statement released by Berri's office. The former minister died at he Percy Hospital outside Paris where he was admitted after sustaining burns to 97 percent of his body in the blast that killed Hariri and 18 others. The American eductaed economist was a good friend of Hariri's and taught at the American University of Beirut.
