Jamal Al Jassim Electronics will be showcasing a plethora of products at this year’s Gitex Saudi Arabia as it presents offerings from the wide range of vendors it represents in the Kingdom, including LG, Dell, D-Link Networks, Tripplite, Dazzle, Western Digital, Genius, HP, Intel, Acer, Creative and Iomega. In particular, the Saudi distributor will be highlighting notebooks from LG and Dell. “We participate in Gitex Saudi Arabia to display our products. At the show we will display the latest LG Express Notebooks, which are very slim and stylish and have Sonoma processors. LG used to be about home products primarily, but now we are heavily marketing its product to the corporate and government sector,” explains Jamal Al Jassim Electronics’ Mohammed Al Galayini. “We will also introduce the new Dell Inspiron notebooks and Dimension PCs in a separate booth at the show to introduce people to the fact that we have become a Dell distributor. Our Tripplite products will be displayed on their own stand this year because we are introducing big size Online UPS like the 10K, 20K, 30K. In particular, Tripplite’s alternate power units will be good for Saudi Arabian people who travel long distances in cars and who have housees, tents and offices in the desert.” Al Galayini says the Saudi Arabian IT market is booming, with growth in 2005 expected to be no less than 30%. Furthermore, he says the market is being driven by a combination of lower prices and new products. As such, Gitex is a key event for Jamal Al Jassim Electronics’ success this year as it presents a great opportunity for the firm to tap into the Kingdom’s IT spend. “There is a very big opportunity in the Saudi Arabian market… This year, because we have a huge variety of notebooks, we expect to experience a good selling environment,” says Al Galayini. “We have been in the Saudi market for 22 years and hence we are a trusted company. Moreover, we were the first company in the local assembled PC business and we want to continue to grow,” he adds. For the rest of 2005, Jamal Al Jassim Electronics will focus on pushing its LG products to the Kingdom’s users and developing its sales and support teams to further the firm’s ambitions. “We are number one in LG monitos in Saudi Arabia and our LG market share is the biggest in the Kingdom. While we are looking to maintain this standard in the monitor sector during 2005, we will promote our LG notebooks and hopefully achieve the number two position in the Kingdom. Besides this, we are working hard to take large share of the Dell computer businesss in the Saudi Arabian market and we also want to take Tripplite UPS from being nowhere in Kingdom to the number one position,” says Al Galayini. “We will also be looking to provide our customer with good stocking, the best pricing and excellent after sales support. This is important because we are a one-stop-shop and our turn over is huge. We have a big stock inventory and our banking is very strong,” he adds.
