Jarir Bookstore is looking to showcase the wide range of products it carries from international vendors at this year’s Gitex. Among those offerings slated to appear at the show are solutions from Toshiba, Acer, HP, IBM, and Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC). Jarir Bookstore was established in the year 1974 in Saudi Arabia. The company operates 17 bookstores all over the Middle East with the 18th scheduled to open later this year. From its network of locations, the company supplements supplies of Arabic books and office supplies with a plethora of technology products, which will be the focus for the firm come April 24. “Jarir Bookstore would be displaying the latest technology from Toshiba, FSC, Acer and other manufacturers this year. Gitex gives us an opportunity to display our brands to a wide audience and thereby increase awareness about the products and services we offer,” says Jarir Bookstore’s Dennis Datu. “Gitex is a good medium for Jarir to emphasise its presence in the field of technology,” he adds. The company initially entered the information technology market due to the potential growth it saw. Little has changed since then and Datu believes the market will continue to grow quickly and provide plenty of opportunities for resellers and vendors alike. “The IT market in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is showing tremendous growth and offers great opportunities in the field of technology. Jarir intends to take maximum advantage of this trend and bring the latest in technology to its customers,” he says.
