Oracle will be showcasing its products and services at this year’s Gitex exhibition in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) in partnership with local integrator Jeraisy Computer & Communications Services (JCCS). The vendor will be paying special attention to healthcare and government sectors at the event. Oracle says these two verticals present enormous growth opportunities for its enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions. “The potential for the information technology industry in Saudi Arabia is unsurpassed. Oracle has strived and will continue to invest in the Saudi market to enable the country’s verticals to continue their rapid growth,” says Oracle Middle East chief Husam Dajani. “Working with Jeraisy and our other in-country partners, we will implement best-of-breed ERP deployments as we always have and Gitex Saudi Arabia is the event for showcasing our achievements and explaining our Grid computing vision to our customers in the Kingdom,” he adds. JCCS says Gitex is important for companies that deal with the government, as Saudi has its own rules, regulation and business practices which are Islamic in origin. “Things are done slightly differently here [in Saudi Arabia]. Issues need to be addressed with locally available successful references. Vendors have to talk the common language,” says Ahmed Zaky, channel marketing manager at Oracle Saudi Arabia. “ In other words, businesses need to know the culture and the country to do business and that is why we are attending this year’s Gitex with our partner,” he adds. Zaky says business opportunities in the Saudi Arabian market are enormous for system integrators such as JCCS that are able to provide turnkey solutions and understand the requirement of KSA’s public sector, which has specific process flows. “This is our market and it is the responsibility of Saudi Arabian companies to support its market via participation in such events and invest until it reaches a level of global professionalism as seen in the US and Western Europe,” Zaky says.
