Oracle prepares for PartnerNetwork day

Software behemoth Oracle is putting the finishing touches to preparations for its next Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) day, due to take place on the 20th April 2005 at the Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai.

Software behemoth Oracle is putting the finishing touches to preparations for its next Middle East Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) day, due to take place on the 20th April 2005 at the Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai. The event allows Oracle to highlight the benefits of its channel proposition to both existing and potential new partners from across the region. The overall theme of this year’s event is how Oracle and its partners can work together even better to accelerate their joint success. “OPN members have contributed significantly to Oracle’s success in the past 12 months, generating more than 50% of out total licence revenue in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA),” said Ayman Abouseif, senior marketing director at Oracle Middle East and Africa, Eastern and central Europe. “Members looking for lower costs, increased accessibility to critical information and new business opportunities will greatly benefit from joining us next week. More than 450 partners attended last year’s OPN day in Dubai and we expect this year’s event to achieve similar success,” he added. Delegates will get the chance to hear from Oracle technical, sales and marketing experts and discover more about the benefits that can be derived from OPN membership. The event will also allow partners to network with their peers — a valuable opportunity to lay the groundwork for the formation of channel ecosystems that combine best-of-breed resources from multiple partners to deliver comprehensive solutions to customers. Vendor alliances will also come under the spotlight during the OPN day, with a bevy of sponsor partners including AMD, Sun, Acer, Intermec, IBM and Printronix on hand to discuss how their offerings complement Oracle products. Regional Oracle value-added distributor Tech Data is also a sponsor of the event. OPN is an all-encompassing partner programme reaching out to a wide range of companies including systems integrators, hardware vendors, application service providers, value-added resellers and independent software vendors.
