Samsung has presented MicroTrans LLC with a brand-spanking-new delivery van. Reseller MicroTrans drove off into the sunset with its Toyota ‘Hiace’ mean machine — resplendent with Samsung adverts — after winning the vendor’s ‘Drive-in-Style’ printer promotion. “The ‘Drive-in-Style’ promotion was held as part of the company’s commitment to motivate our partner’s sales team. We received encouraging response from the participants and we will continue to host similar promotions in future,” explained K. H. Koh, general manager at Samsung Gulf Electronics. Almost 50 UAE-based dealers and IT resellers took part in the promotion, which ended on December 25th 2004. To qualify for the promotion, resellers were set the target of earning a certain number of points based on their purchases of six separate printer models. Those that made the grade were entered into a grand raffle draw. Samsung’s push into the regional printer channel can only benefit from such promotions. With many established vendors already boasting expansive channels, Samsung is pulling out all the stops to increase its market reach and challenge the incumbents in this fiercely competitive market segment.
