Keen to bring a bit of glamour to the world of systems management software, Computer Associates has announced that McLaren Racing has implemented a number of its offerings. McLaren, one of the greatest names in the history of Formula One, is using CA products to manage, secure and validate the data operations at its onsite garage and main operation centre. “We are a zero fault tolerant organisation — on a race weekend, it is not conceivable that information technology would let us down. CA is helping us build the systems to ensure this doesn’t happen,” said Jonathan Neale, managing director, McLaren Racing. Sadly, for McLaren and CA, the team’s Kimi Raikkonen could only finish third at last week’s Grand Prix in Bahrain.
