Australian Co-operative Foods (Dairy Farmers) has introduced a range of shredded cheese to the region, which represents the fastest growing international market for the company. Brightly packaged and available in Cheddar, Mozzarella and Parmesan varieties, the easy-to-use cheese is for use in salads, sandwiches and jacket-potatoes. The company was at February’s Gulfood show to showcase the upcoming range and stress its commitment to the Middle East market. “This new line has been two years in planning and we have just launched into the GCC. It’s a very exciting new venture for Dairy Farmers and this is the first step in building the brand in our key Middle East markets,” said Murray Croft, the firm’s stand manager at Gulfood. The new product’s packaging, including the important ingredients label, is translated in five languages, including Arabic. “The Middle East is the second largest regional market for Dairy Farmers, but is the fastest growing. We have operated in this market for many years, and have seen it grow to become an important region for us,” said Croft. “We supply most Pizza Hut stores in the Middle East with mozzarella cheese, and we are increasing our retail and general foodservice presence. Our primary objective at Gulfood was to continue to grow our business through being able to display our commitment and quality. We heavily promoted our new line of retail cheese as well as supporting our ‘Deli Style’ cheeses,” adds Croft.
