Tunisia’s new stadium, the Salle Omnisports á Rades-Halle, claims to have set new standards in the African entertainment sector with the installation of a complete turnkey audio system from EVI Audio. The solution was put together with the firm’s local partner, World Technology Access, in time for the finals of the world handball championship that was held in Tunisia. The possibilities of the architecturally impressive building are comprehensive, covering everything from sports (handball, hockey, tennis, boxing…) to meetings, conferences and large live concerts. EVI claims that the demands placed upon the sound reinforcement system were equally complex and diverse. The installation, therefore, includes a public address and alarm system, a conference system, a concert system and solutions to mix and control the conference and live solutions. The public address system includes a Dynacord Pro Matrix, 132 ceiling loudspeakers and 50 sound projectors. For the conference system, EVI Audio has installed 34 Electro-Voice speakers (FRX-660, FRX-640, FRX-940), 34 Electro-Voice P1200 amps and six Dynacord DSP244 digital controllers. The live system for concerts includes 10 Dynacord Cobra-4 FARs, eight Dynacord Cobra-4 TOPs, 12 Electro-Voice X-LINE subs, 16 Dynacord L2400 amps and four Dynacord DSP 244 digital controllers. A Midas Legend console and Klark Teknik DN9340/Helix, DN360 and DN9848 solutions will be used for the mixing and control of the conference and live systems. The installation also includes various EV microphones such as RE-2 wireless and Cobalt.
