Qatar Radio & Television Corporation is expanding its current studio facilities and upgrading its existing Dalet radio solutions. Six of Qatar Radio’s broadcast studios will be digitised and equipped with DaletPlus and 35 production, scheduling and broadcast workstations will be deployed across its facilities. This new installation will expand Qatar Radio’s existing Dalet digital system, which has been on-air for the past two years. “This project will provide Qatar Radio & Television with one of the most modern digital radio production and broadcast platform world-wide,” says Ali Kubaisi, acting director of Qatar Radio. The project will also see DaletPlus Radio Suite provide Qatar Radio with a single platform to produce, schedule, broadcast and archive programmes. The workflow will be further streamlined by replacing CDs and tapes with files across the network. Proper tracking of associated metadata will simplify programming and accelerate access to available media: producers and DJs will be able to access any song or recording from their desktop workstation. “With this installation, not only will ingest, production, scheduling and broadcast be digitised but so will Qatar Radio’s archives,” says Mohammed Bouita, regional sales manager for Dalet Midde East. “Qatar Radio archives will be on-line and available to both radio and TV operations. This is a first for the Middle East.”
