HP plans to hit the road in the Middle East to showcase its new range of business notebooks to channel partners across the region with events planned for the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan. The events will offer partners hands-on advice, training and demonstrations of HP’s whizzy new notebook line-up. “The full portfolio of wireless solutions demonstrated during this roadshow signifies a breakthrough in mobile computing, by effectively combining freedom and flexibility with security, Bluetooth applications and multimedia capabilities,” explained Hazem Bazan, SPO and PSG general manager at HP Middle East. In total, HP has introduced six new business notebooks to its Middle East offering, each one featuring Intel’s Sonoma mobile technology, the latest version of Intel’s Centrino mobile technology, a mobile chipset and an Intel ProWireless chip. With all major manufacturers using similar components architecture in their latest cutting-edge notebooks, value-add features are required to differentiate products from the competition. HP offers a mobile data protection system that prevents the hard drive from shock and vibration, reducing the risk of data corruption as well as a local recovery solution from software vendor Altiris that allows rapid data recovery. With cutting-edge notebook PCs boasting similar technical attributes, it is the value-added features, fit within a wider product portfolio, pricing points, margin potential and marketing efforts that can really grab the interest of the regional channel community. For HP, pushing mobility solutions and explaining the power of the product portfolio it offers are top priorities for the year ahead. According to Bazan, 2005 is the year of mobility and HP has the necessary solutions. “No other company spans the mobility spectrum like HP has demonstrated,” he said. “We have the network infrastructure that powers the world’s leading companies as well as the wireless solutions that provide business continuity and cost-effective end-to-end solutions for consumers.”
