Light Speed Communications has signed up NetCentrex to provide IP voice and video services across its network. Light Speed has been granted status as the first alternative fixed-line operator in the recently deregulated Bahraini market. Light Speed will deploy NetCentrex’s MyCall solution to offer IP-based telephony services to the residential market in Bahrain. It will initially introduce IP voice and video telephony services and high speed internet access. Further developments will include new converged fixed-mobile services in alliance with a leading regional 3G mobile operator. NetCentrex Business Consulting services has worked with Light Speed to define its long term NGN services strategy and to build the business model for the roll out of its telephony and video services. “The deployment of MyCall will lead to unprecedented services in the Kingdom and the region, and contribute to economic and social growth through a state of the art communication infrastructure,” says Shaikh Abdulla Khalid Al-Khalifa, the managing director of Light Speed Communications. “We chose NetCentrex for their solid experience in voice and video communications, including emergent converged fixed-mobile services,” he adds. NetCentrex says the agreement will enable Light Speed to bring the most up to date and cutting edge products and services to the Bahraini residential market.
