D-Link takes Trapeze artists on-board

D-Link has announced a partnership with wireless vendor Trapeze Networks in a bid to break into the enterprise wireless market.

Networking player D-Link, which is best known for its SMB business has announced a partnership with wireless vendor Trapeze Networks in a bid to break into the enterprise wireless market. The companies will work the development of enterprise-level wireless networking solutions through a series of licensing and engineering projects. Under the terms of the agreement, Trapeze will sell a newly designed D-Link access point fully, which will be compatible with the recently announced Trapeze Open Access Point Initiative (OAPI). Future plans under the agreement include several co-development projects that will expand the product and solution breadth of both companies to target new and existing market opportunities in the enterprise networking space. “The enterprise wireless LAN market continues to grow and now is the right time to partner with a leading vendor like Trapeze Networks." says Keith Karlsen, executive vice president of D-Link. “Combining our award-winning hardware solutions with their proven software capabilities allows us to deliver an extremely robust solution to the marketplace,” he adds.
