enigmatis pushes Linux

DIC-based enigmatis took its ‘Linux in Business’ message to Abu Dhabi with an event for more that 50 business managers on March 1st 2005.

DIC-based enigmatis, a Middle East and Africa (MEA) focused IT solutions provider working with resellers and integrators, took its ‘Linux in Business’ message to Abu Dhabi with an event for more than 50 business managers on March 1st 2005. Christian Kroker, managing director at enigmatis, commented: “Abu Dhabi is home to the largest commercial organizations in the Middle East and we felt that it is important to create greater awareness about open source and Linux. The success of the event was a testimony to the growing interest in Linux and open source in the Middle East region.” Abdulsalal Al Marri, a delegate from the Department of Health and Medical Services, added: “The Linux in Business event enhanced my belief in the knowledge and professional skills available in this region for solutions offered and for Linux as an option.” The event featured guest speakers explaining migration issues, support, the cost of ownership and potential return on investment offered by open source solutions. Delegates were also able to test-drive demonstration PCs running SuSE Linux and other open source programmes. enigmatis is finalising plans to run similar events in Qatar, Bahrain, Syria and Muscat. enigmatis has formed several strategic and joint ventures in the Middle East and Africa to promote its solution and product offering. The company’s expanding partner network already includes systems integrators and strategic resellers. The company also represents a number of major vendors in MEA including Novell, Sun and Fujitsu Siemens. Working alongside its partners, enigmatis offers its clients a wide range of IT services from consultancy work through to hardware installation and maintenance.
