PalmOne has launched its latest Treo smartphone in the form of the 650. This device takes the previous 600 model and adds extra features such as a high-resolution screen, wider e-mail access and a Bluetooth option. The device is a compact, fully featured mobile phone with e-mail, a Palm OS organiser, messaging, web access, digital camera and a QWERTY keyboard. “Research in Europe shows that 61% of business decisions are being delayed because of people waiting for e-mail replies,” said Stuart Maughan, general manager, Palmone Middle East.. “Having access to e-mail on the move using a mobile device, such as the new Treo 650 smartphone, should help people overcome these challenges and give our customers the freedom to communicate at any time,” The Treo 650 comes with some design improvements over the 600, including its camera having been enhanced to work better in low-light conditions. However, the new Treo has less integrated memory (23MB compared to the Treo 600’s 32MB). The Treo 650 is priced at $749.
