Al-Falak has picked up a reseller award from telecoms and IT kit vendor Marconi thanks to its sterling sales efforts in the GCC during the last year. The award was presented at Marconi’s annual partner Flying University get-together held recently in Dubai. Al-Falak System Solutions and Consulting (FSCC) boosted sales 31% year-on-year during 2004. “As voice, data and applications converge; technology innovators are increasingly flooding the markets with a host of telecommunications products,” explained Ahmed Ali Ashadawi, president and CEO at Al-Falak. “For the IT managers, the challenge lies in identifying solutions that will not only provide the maximum return on investment in the present, but also be scalable enough to meet future requirements. A reseller must strike a fine balance between providing cutting-edge technologies and ensuring post sales on ground performance of the products.” “We are pleased to recognise Al-Falak’s outstanding commitment to creating and implementing innovative networking solutions based on Marconi products for clients in the Middle East,” said Andy Furner, Marconi Middle East senior VP. “We strive to arm our partners with the very best in sophisticated networking technology, so that they can successfully service their customers. Al-Falak is an excellent example of the relationships we seek to establish with our channel partners.” Saudi-owned Al Falak has carved out an impressive reputation as a supplier of network solutions, hardware, applications and IT consultancy services across the Middle East. Marconi’s product portfolio includes optical networks, broadband routing and switching kit as well as broadband access technologies and services.
