Saudi Arabian IT services and business solutions provider Digicom Systems has formed a joint venture (JV) with Indian company Prumatech to deliver professional consultancy and contract services to customers across the Kingdom. The move unites Prumatech’s expertise in materials management services with Digicom’s impressive customer reach and strong reputation in the market. “Digicom’s pre-eminent position in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its extensive track record in the IT arena, diversified business approach and extensive knowledge of the local IT market, coupled with Prumatech Services domain expertise, will ensure strong positioning of the JV in the Saudi Arabian market,” said PN Murty, managing director of Prumatech Services. “Spending on IT products and services and maintenance-related services in Saudi Arabia is growing twice as fast as the world average and is forecast to grow to 15% this year. Reaching even a small fraction of this figure would offer considerable leverage to the JV. We expect the new company to start business by March 2005 under the name Prumatech Arabia Limited Company,” he added. Abdulaziz Albakr, president at Digicom, commented: “The JV should appeal to a wide range of companies in different sectors. The JV provides both companies with strong foundations to jointly leverage opportunities in the local market, beginning with Jubail Industrial City as the first branch office to operate, followed by Riyadh, Jeddah and Yanbu Industrial City.” Digicom and Prumatech have worked together for four years and the formation of the JV is the next logical step in a relationship that has already led to customer wins in the Kingdom. Digicom’s core focus is in the areas of systems integration, application development, infrastructure and networking services. Vendor partners include major names such as Microsoft, Novell, Oracle, HP, Cisco and 3Com.
