eCompany, Etisalat’s one-stop business unit and a leading provider of ICT solutions for finance, retail, business and government sectors is announcing new value-added features for its high speed Al Shamil broadband access service for home users that will increase email storage and anti spam protection. The company, which provides internet services and total e-solutions, hopes to strengthen relationships with customers and partners and provide them with high-value solutions through a single point of contact. By providing a complete portfolio of internet offerings, value-added services, consulting and project management, eCompany aims to boost its position in the Middle Eastern marketplace. The email storage quota of all existing and new Al Shamil customers will now increase from 5MB to 50MB. In addition, subscribers will get the benefits of Brightmail AntiSpam to protect them from the growing spam menace. These new value-added features are to be provided free of charge to all existing and new Al Shamil subscribers. The increased email storage quota will allow Al Shamil subscribers to send and receive a greater volume emails with larger attachments, avoiding the risk of rejected email. From an anti spam perspective, the Brightmail program stops spam attacks in real time at the internet gateway level. Without compromising accuracy, it leverages over twenty different filtering technologies, including spam signatures, heuristics and many other proprietary methods to protect subscribers. Comprehensive threat protection also helps consolidate email threat management and monitoring via optional virus scanning and cleaning. An additional feature is a desktop plug-in for popular email programs which empowers subscribers to take control of their inboxes by specifying approved languages, personal lists of allowed and blocked senders, and other settings. Announcing the new features, Abdulla Hashim, senior manager at eCompany said: “ Our constant quest to improve the user experience and convenience for Al Shamil subscribers is reflected by the implementation of these new features. The opportunity for our subscribers to transfer large volumes of data quickly and efficiently will lead to increased productivity and customer satisfaction. Moreover, the comprehensive protection afforded by the implementation of Brightmail AntiSpam will benefit subscribers greatly in controlling the menace of spam which has been on a marked increase.”
