A bevy of senior HP representatives descended on Yemen recently to promote the vendor behemoth’s powerful partnering message and showcase products from across its broad product portfolio to the channel and customers alike. More than 70 delegates rolled up at the Sheraton Sana’a to learn more about HP’s offering. Hazem Bazan, solution partner organisation (SPO) manager at HP Middle East, said: “We regard Yemen as a market with development potential. It is a promising country for us, which is why we were so pleased that the event was such a huge success.” “Although this is only the first step in our strategy we wanted to provide a clear and tangible example of our commitment to the market as well as an avenue to highlight our latest channel programmes and product portfolios,” he added. HP also used the event as an opportunity to gauge the size of the market in Yemen. The vendor’s focus to the country has been made abundantly clear through HP’s decision to appoint a dedicated sales manager for Yemen. This local touch point will play a strategic role in increasing HP’s channel breadth, driving partner programmes and helping business partners develop. At present HP has five sales and service partners (SSPs) in Yemen.
