Networking giant Cisco has reaffirmed the vital role that partners play in its Middle East business model with the appointment of Tarek Ghoul as channel manager for the region. Ghoul, who arrives at Cisco with a wealth of IT industry experience, will also oversee channel operations in Pakistan. “With his expertise in delivering business solutions to customers in the Middle East and beyond, I am confident Tarek will provide dynamic direction to country channel managers as he works closely with them and our channel partners to ensure the implementation of the ‘Intelligent Information Network’, Cisco’s technology vision and roadmap for the evolution of networks to systems, at customer sites,” said Ghazi Atallah, general manager, Cisco Middle East and Pakistan. “Top priorities for Tarek will be to evolve the channel programme to deliver revenue growth and enhance capabilities in advanced technologies and solutions strategies for partners. In addition, Tarek will continuously develop and execute programs to enhance partner profitability and productivity,” Atallah continued. Ghoul’s IT industry CV includes stints at networking and IT services companies including Cisco competitor 3Com. “I am delighted to be joining Cisco Systems, which prides itself on building exceptionally strong relationships with its channel partners,” he said. “This has been a key ingredient in Cisco’s success over the years in delivering solutions to meet the ever-growing networking needs of organisations of all sizes." "I look forward to carrying on this tradition in the competitive and dynamic markets of the Middle East, where this channel collaboration is particularly important,” he added.
