PC graphics firm ATI Technologies has added to its range of graphics chips and branded cards, giving gamers in the region the choice of either ultimate performance or value. ATI’s new Radeon X850 XT Platinum Edition, X850 XT and X850 PRO products are designed to catch the eye of hardcore fun-seekers looking for top notch gaming performance. These GPUs are all based upon the same 16 pixel, 6 vertex engine architecture and should begin to hit the market on new graphics cards over the next few weeks. At the more cost-conscious end of the market, ATI’s Radeon X800 XL and X800 models take ATI’s award-winning Radeon X800-series GPU architecture and drive it to new low prices, giving more gamers the chance to enjoy quality 3D gaming titles. “The regional gaming market is booming and ATI’s direct presence in the region allows us to cater to this growing demand better than any other graphics solutions provider,” claimed Rauf Baig, senior sales manager, Middle East and Africa, ATI Technologies. “Gamers in the region are in for a treat with our newly released cost-effective, technologically advanced gaming processors.” Back in December ATI claimed that PCI Express-enabled graphics cards will account for one in four graphics cards sold worldwide by the end of 2005, with gamers driving this market in the Middle East.
