The Khalifa stadium in Doha will see 200,000 metres of Belden cable laid out at its site, as part of a massive broadcast installation project. The cables include Belden’s Digital Video cable (SDI/HDTV) and the Star Quad cable. Belden has also supplied the entire cabling system for the Public Address system within the Stadium. The 1694A provides 20-30% lower attenuation than traditional precision video cable. This allows for error-free transmission over extended distances. 70,000 ms of the 8424, Belden’s Star Quad / Rubber microphone cable has also been laid out at the site. It provides good abrasion, impact resistance and extra limpness to broadcast all audio signals, says Bassem Salhab, regional manager, Belden CDT EMEA. This installation has been in the primary venue of the event. The opening and closing ceremony as well as the major matches of the home team will take place in this stadium. “Selecting Belden over many other manufacturers proves that Belden is a reliable cable manufacturer with performance exceeding industry standards,” says Salhab.
