The Higher Colleges of Technology has purchased 60 educational licenses of Discreet’s cleaner media mastering and encoding software. The software will be used at four Higher Colleges of Technology campuses including Abu Dhabi Men’s College, Abu Dhabi Women’s College, Dubai Men’s College and Sharjah Women’s College. ‘ “Cleaner allows video professionals to master and encode content for output to all major digital media formats, from web streaming and DVD to wireless, PDA, and mobile distribution,” says Patrick Jocelyn, director for Discreet, EMEA. “This is the defacto standard in encoding and we are glad that students are being trained on it.” Cleaner filters, crops, scales, optimises and encodes audio and video into the most popular formats including Windows Media, QuickTime, RealMedia, and MPEG-2 & 4. It provides ready-to-use professional templates and other features to quickly and easily master media for these playback options and their various display, network and storage capabilities. The software was sold to the Higher Colleges of Technology by authorised Discreet reseller, CADD Emirates.
