Aptec Gulf and 3Com to develop the Kuwaiti and UAE channels in a bid to create more business in the small and medium sector. Aptec is launching aggressive 3Com promotions for Kuwait and the UAE. The first event will be at Radisson SAS in Kuwait on February 6 and the event in UAE will follow on the February 9 at the Ramada Hotel in Dubai. “Aptec along with 3COM has decided to go for SMB seminars in two of the fastest growing regions in the Middle East. The UAE and Kuwait are the 2nd and 4th largest growing IT markets respectively in the Middle East. Scope for SMB business is immense in these regions. What is required is to identify the right partners to work with who have reach and focus,” says Shailendra Sainani, regional product manager for 3Com at Aptec Gulf. The companies claim that the Middle East saw fast growth in this sector in 2004, with networking vendors in particular having a lot to offer this emerging channel segment. The companies have highlighted wireless technology, IP telephony for small offices, travel accessories for remotely working IT managers and sales representatives and all-in-one products for small office/home users as key areas.
