Sahm Technologies launches expansion plans

The company plans to take its IT services to the GCC corporate segment, forge global and local technology alliances, develop unique solutions, skilled resources, world class infrastructure and adhere to global services standards.

Sahm Technologies, the IT arm of Emaar Group, has kicked off a business expansion strategy that takes the company’s technology and communication services to private and public sector organisations in the GCC market. UAE-based Emaar group launched Sahm in 2002 to deliver an end-to-end communication services to the residents of Emaar properties and IT support to the group’s financial houses. Expanding its IT services to organisations outside the group is part if Sahm’s vision to become the leading IT services company in the region. “We now have one of the most experienced team in the region, a portfolio of technology products and services, as well as an IT infrastructure that allows us bring our capabilities for the benefit of organisations outside the group,” says Arvind Bhatnagar, CEO of Sahm Technologies. “The move comes as a result of our significant growth over the last few years. We are at a stage where our unique solutions, skilled resources and world-class infrastructure are qualified to service corporate markets in the region,” he adds. Sahm is providing the voice, data and video services on one of the largest IP networks. The company realised Emaar’s vision of building the world's largest "Intelligent City" by deploying a state-of-the-art Internet Protocol (IP) network to service residents and business entities located within the Emaar territories. Sahm is also responsible for providing the end-to-end IT management services to various businesses including Dubai Bank, Amlak Finance and Emrill. Bhatnagar says the company has invested in a robust infrastructure that allows it to extend it to external organisations in the region. “For the last two years, our data centre and call centre have been successfully servicing the customer support, hosting and management of the Emaar group of companies business. Today, we are making this platform available for businesses across the region to benefit from.” Along with extending its technology infrastructure to organisations outside the group, Sahm will expand its technology alliances with global as well as local partners. The company has finalised a regional agreement with Wipro Technologies to deliver 24/7, onshore and offshore-managed services for Oracle enterprise resource planning (ERP) customers in the region. “Through our alliance with Wipro, we will bring to Oracle ERP customers in the region after sales support, implementation support and a consistent and round the clock management of their IT platform. From our Oracle e-sustenance center based in Dubai, we have remote access and management capability to service any IT infrastructure in the region.”
