Acer has chosen the tenth Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) at which to launch its first digital cameras for the Middle East market. The firm’s three models, the CR-5130, CS-5530 and CR-6530, offer resolutions of between five and six megapixels, and are priced from 799Dhs ($218) to 1099Dhs ($299). To celebrate the launch of its first digital snappers, Acer is giving away a camera with every purchase of one of its Ferrari 3400 notebooks during DSF. “These cameras are packed with a host of practical features that will enable people to capture and keep all of their most cherished memories,” said Graham Braum, business development manager, mobility products, Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd. “We are delighted to be debuting these cameras during DSF, which is one of the world’s most prestigious retail events.” Acer’s new cameras feature 3x optical and 4x digital zooms, built-in flash functions (with different shooting modes to prevent the problem of ‘red-eye’), aluminum casings and ArcSoft/NTI photo software. Each camera is also supplied with a 64MB SD memory card for storing images.
