Vendor incubator specialist Vesta has signed up Mindware to distribute its NetBotz security solutions. The deal gives Vesta access to 4,000 resellers across the MEA region and may be ramped up to include more of Vesta’s vendors. “This is a major agreement on our side as it takes NetBotz up the ranks to the big leagues and into the forefront of distribution,” said Steven Brown, CEO at Vesta. “It is right time for NetBotz to go through a distribution arm. Mindware will give us the reach though its channel and the focus through its networking team.” After months of negotiations and financial hitches, Vesta finally bagged a major NetBotz deal with Dubai Internet City that Brown believes will only further enhance the NetBotz name. “The deal was scheduled to go through last year, but the management approved it this month. Between this year and next year it will be worth US$2m for us.” The Mindware move is the latest in a series of appointments for Vesta’s portfolio of vendors. Vesta signed a three-month deal with Minerva for Zultys, and penned an agreement with Online for Fortinet. Vesta may make a move to expand its agreement with Mindware to include more products.” “We chose NetBotz to go with Mindware, and we are talking with them about a couple more vendors too. Obviously they have to be successful, but they also have to accept the products. If they reach their limit and their sales team is stretched trying to sell a product, then me adding a product doesn’t help anything. They need the resources in place,” concluded Brown.
