Googlers favour blondes, again

Search giant Google has issued its annual ‘zeitgeist’ statement, which shows pop singer Britney Spears topping the list of most popular search queries for the second year running.

Search giant Google has issued its annual ‘zeitgeist’ statement, which shows pop singer Britney Spears topping the list of most popular search queries for the second year running. Google’s year-end statement details the ten most frequently entered search terms entered over the past 12 months, with the pop diva this year repeating her 2003 success. Spears was followed closely on the list by three more blondes in the form of Paris Hilton, Christina Aguilera and Pamela Anderson, who finished second, third and fourth respectively. Of the men, Orlando Bloom was 2004’s most searched for face. Other zeitgeist winners included The Simpsons, which was Google’s most commonly entered TV title, with ‘wallpaper’ the most requested computer-related enquiry and eBay the most regularly entered brand name.
