Jeema Mineral Water has completed the deployment of Microsoft Business Solutions Great Plains 8.0 ERP to help improve its business processes. The solution, which was rolled out by Microsoft Certified Partner Emitac, will provide the mineral water bottling and distribution company with better reporting and management of its day-to-day operations, as well as improve its time to market and create a platform for future expansion. The Great Plains ERP solution will be deployed at Jeema’s bottling and distribution plants across the UAE, to manage operations company-wide. The new system provides a much greater level of insight and depth of reporting to meet the company’s specific requirements. “Jeema was looking for a total solution that would help us to manage many different aspects of our business, as well as being capable of meeting our future requirements, and providing us with customised reporting for some of our specific requirements,” explains Mohab Hanafy, finance manager, Jeema Mineral Water. “Great Plains exceeded all of our requirements, and the local presence and commitment of Emitac and Microsoft were big factors in our choosing this solution.” The solution provides detailed, customised reporting and management of all aspects of the company’s operations. A third party application from Microsoft Certified Business Solutions Partner, Horizons International, handles management of the company’s manufacturing processes. In future, the company plans to introduce a solution to enable integrations of handheld terminals for use by field staff. “Jeema is an ISO and HACCP certified company, as well as being a member of the Asia Bottled Water Association, so the Great Plains solution gives Jeema much tighter control over its operations and its data, which helps ensure that it is able to comply with these standards. The ease of customisation of Great Plains also meant that the solution could be tailored exactly to fit Jeema’s best practices and reporting requirements,” says Himanshu Khanna, solution sales specialist, Professional Services Group, Emitac. MBS’s other modules, which include customer relationship management (CRM), supply chain management (SCM) and analytics applications work with Microsoft products such as MS-Office and Windows XP/2000 clients to streamline processes across Jeema’s business units. The deployment includes Great Plains Financials, distribution and HR/Payroll modules, running on Windows Server 2000 and a Microsoft SQL 2000 database. Roll out of the solution took two months for the core applications, with a further month to customise it as per the bottling company’s requirements. “MBS appls empower business customers to connect the people, processes and information they need to help improve business agility, increase business insight and run their business more efficiently,” says Rajesh Deepchandani, Solution Partner account manager, Microsoft South Gulf.
