Dubai-based electronic college e-TQM has completed the revamp of its IT infrastructure. The project, which was complete in a month, will help e-TQM to offer its e-learning capabilities over a reliable, robust and secure infrastructure to students around the world. ”The technology infrastructure upgrade is an example of our commitment to invest in the best available technology to offer an unmatched e-learning experience to our students both here in the UAE and around the world,” says Sameer Khoory, IT manager at e-TQM College. “For the success of any project, it is crucial that partners are carefully selected to guarantee smooth implementation and proper project management. We are satisfied with the results we got from CNS.” CNS leads a consortium of technology service and solutions providers that offered e-TQM College a comprehensive solution that enabled the institute’s IT management to streamline internal processes and procedures, delivering more effective resource management tools to the students and faculty members. ”Flexibility and scalability are our prime concerns for this project. With total quality management discipline growing in demand in today's business arena, students are becoming more aware of the advantages and convenience e-Learning offers them,” Khoory adds. Running on Microsoft Windows 2003, with Microsoft Exchange 2003 the new platform will allow e-TQM College students and faculty members to enjoy secure access to network resources such as e-mail, course material and exam scores with reliable ease and speed. Sybari's 'Antigen for Exchange' was also deployed to offer a virus and spam free environment. The new e-TQM College infrastructure is redundant and can be rapidly backed up in case of any unlikely emergencies, keeping the college student and faculty data fully accessible and up to date. Under the supervision of Dubai Police, e-TQM College was established two years ago to provide opportunities through open access to individuals aspiring to specialise in quality management and to those associated with its implementation and management.
