Epson is targeting home movie buffs with its latest scanner, the Perfection 2480 Photo, which can 35mm film as well as high-definition images. “This new scanner offers users high resolution, improved photo restoration and fast film scanning. At the same time we have ensured that the Perfection 2480 is incredibly easy to use, with easily scanned film negatives enabling the user to make high quality enlargements at home,” said Khalil El-Dalu, general manager, Epson Middle East. The Perfection 2480 captures details at 2400 x 4800 dpi, allowing users to create photo-quality A3 prints from 35mm film. The device also includes a built-in film adapter for digitising positive and negative film, removing the need for a separate film scanner. It also comes with built-in colour restoration and dust removal features, so old film and photographs can be restored to former glories. To help send on those restored images, Epson has added simple one-click scan to email, scan to web, scan and save and copy tools. The Perfection 2480 comes with a Standard USB 2.0 high-speed interface.
