The Radisson SAS Martinez in Beirut has completed a $100,000 redesign of its lobby area. The hotel has completely renovated its entrance to provide a larger lobby, which now offers direct access to the hotel’s Bistro restaurant, and benefits from its proximity to the busy Phoenicia Street thoroughfare. The project, which has taken three months to complete, saw the removal of original features such as a set of columns and a fixed marble and wood buffet display. Aluminum and glass features have been combined with the addition of new furniture, a cigar display, an Italian marble floor, planting, and new lighting and projectors. “We wanted to create the ambience of a five-star European style boutique hotel with this redesign,” says Peter Schuler, general manager, Radisson SAS Martinez. “Beirut is well known for its appreciation of design, and we are sure that guests will find that the new lobby area, with its elegant features, now reflects this. There have been considerable changes made. The old lobby is now being used as a bar and seating area with full service facilities, and has been furnished in an English style with new leather armchairs and sofas installed. Antique ornaments have also been added to improve the general presentation of the area.
