Business Objects ties up with MIS

Software vendor Business Objects has signed up Saudi-based systems integrator Al Moammar Information Systems (MIS). MIS will market Business Object’s range of business intelligence solutions across the Kingdom.

Software vendor Business Objects has signed up Saudi-based systems integrator Al Moammar Information Systems (MIS). MIS will market Business Object’s range of business intelligence solutions across the Kingdom. “We are pleased to sign the reseller agreements with MIS, as our joint customers will benefit from a more efficient sales process, and solutions that are integrated and easy to deploy. In particular, by offering our business intelligence solutions to their customers, MIS will benefit from our market leading technology,” said Mohammed Khasim, sales manager at Business Strategies Group, the regional distributor for Business Objects. Business Objects has been eyeing the Saudi market for some time now and the tie-up with MIS is the vendor’s latest move in the Kingdom. Its master distributor, Dubai-based Business Strategies Group, opened a branch in Riyadh earlier this year, and more appointments may be in the pipeline. “Right now we are looking at a handful of first-rate value-added resellers who have some a raft of applications that they sell to customers,” said Raheel Khan, Middle East territory manager at Business Strategies Group. “MIS sells and integrates a selection of solutions and it makes sense for them to bundle Business Objects products to provide a value add for customers. We want such partners, who will sell our products in conjunction with software from other names in the industry, like Oracle and Baan.” Business Objects specialises in business intelligence (BI) software, which enables organisations to track, understand and manage enterprise performance. The company’s solutions leverage the information that is stored in an array of corporate databases, enterprise resource planning (ERP), and customer relationship management (CRM) systems allowing for a more rapid collating and analysing of data. The company, headquartered in both Paris and California, recorded revenues of US$560.8m in 2003.
