The Dubai-based technology solutions provider, Netlink has brought on board a new Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), who will be responsible for formulation and implementation of strategy besides spin off six business units. The new CSO of Netlink, S. Satyajit started his IT career in 1986 and later co-founded ASI Custom Software in 1987. Thirteen years later in 2000, he divested his holdings in ASI to a US based mutual fund company. The past four years, prior to joining Netlink, Satyajit was associated with a UAE-based IT company. “Satyajit’s outstanding experience and many years of achievement to his credit especially in the technology and management field. His coming on board is part of our ongoing growth strategy. We are in the middle of a comprehensive restructuring process putting in place a new management structure with focus on regional expansion,” says Akash Arora, chief technical architect, Netlink. “In addition to bringing new solutions, increasing Netlink’s product range, Satyajit will play an important role in looking at strategic mergers and acquisitions.” Commenting on his role in Netlink, Satyajit, says: “Netlink is now executing a carefully structured growth plan, and I believe it is an excellent time for me to be in the company as its CSO. My endeavor would be to drive the company to higher levels of quality, customer satisfaction, improved product & client portfolio and better financial performance.” One of his first initiatives as the CSO will be to spin off six non-competing divisions. Each unit will be an independent functional unit covering technology, outsourcing, infrastructure, internet, and RFID (radio frequency identification), a new wireless technology for supply chain management. As a part of the restructuring Netlink will be opening a software development and outsourcing centre in the UAE, transferring a major chunk of resources currently deployed in its operations in Gurgaon in North India, near New Delhi.
