Strike TV, a Cairo-based music channel, will soon take delivery of a Thunder LT server, a DekoCast character generator and a Liquid non-linear editor from Pinnacle Systems. Pinnacle claims that this deal will further strengthen Liquid’s position as a leading edit system used by Middle East broadcasters. “In addition to our quality programming, we depend on the best technology available to create strong brand awareness,” claims Strike TV’s general manager, Nabil Abou Jaber. “Pinnacle’s CGs and editing solutions ensure we create a polished on-air look to boost the channel as a business.” Pinnacle’s Thunder LT server forms the foundation of Strike TV’s installation and combines the capabilities of a still store, clip store, mixer and DVE in a compact package. Launched earlier this year, the music channel delivers music to Egyptians now but is fast moving into other Arab markets as well. Pinnacle’s solutions will be deployed to enable the channel to do this more efficiently. “Pinnacle understands the pressures commercial broadcasters in the region face,” says Pinnacle’s VP of EMEA, Richard Scott. “In turn, we create products to streamline workflows and better position our customers to overcome the challenges and grow their businesses.”
