Pan-African TV broadcaster MultiChoice Africa has installed digital broadcast platforms for digital Direct-to-Home services from Scopus Network Technologies. The decision follows the installation of a Scopus ‘one-stop-shop’ digital broadcast solution including integration of head-end architecture, engineering and the supply of digital video compression equipment in 2001. This new contract expands and upgrades the current systems with new platforms to push MultiChoice’s digital broadcast abilities into the future. In addition, the upgraded system enables the pay-TV provider to increase its market presence in a wide swath of French and Portuguese speaking Africa. “MultiChoice selected Scopus and local partner GIT not only because their technology is top-tier but also due to the advice and service they have provided,” said Harry Pratt, business development manager for MultiChoice Africa. “Scopus has exceeded our expectations during our association and we look forward to this continuing,” he added.
