Storage software vendor VERITAS plans to push its disaster recovery message out to the UAE’s SMB-focused reseller community next week. Two seminars are planned to keep customers up to speed on the latest offerings and provide the channel with a technology training update. The two seminars, taking place in Abu Dhabi on 23rd November and Dubai the following day, will cover a variety of subjects including how to automate data management, protect against information downtime and recover from unexpected data loss. VERITAS has already held similar events in Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Lebanon during the last two months. “From working with a number of the UAE’s leading enterprises, VERITAS has done a considerable amount of analysis over the years to identify the business requirements of organizations here,” said Katie Spurgeon, regional channel manager at VERITAS Middle East. “In partnership with our UAE-based resellers, we’re now bringing the same level of reliability and ease of management to the SMB market. “Data management and protection have traditionally been less of a concern for SMB organizations, but businesses of all sizes are now realizing the value of their data. Our seminar will highlight how to maximize an existing computing environment with minimal human intervention,” she added. VERITAS will also promote support programmes such as DirectAssist — a web-based programme allowing SMBs with limited technical issues to resolve support issues online. With VERITAS targeting its solutions at the SMB market sector, ensuring that is has a sufficient reseller base to address such a wide customer base is a top priority.
