Symantec launches partner promo

IT security vendor Symantec has whipped the covers off a fourth quarter channel promotion designed to boost sales of its gateway security products and client security software. Working in conjunction with regional VAD Aptec, Symantec is offering business partners cash rewards based on sales performance.

IT security vendor Symantec has whipped the covers off a fourth quarter channel promotion designed to boost sales of its gateway security products and client security software. Working in conjunction with regional value added distributor (VAD) Aptec, Symantec is offering business partners cash rewards based on sales performance. Running from November 10th 2004 until January 31st 2005, the promotion offers partners the opportunity to earn up to Dhs11,000 (US$2,995) in cash if they manage to sell US$50,000 worth of the included Symantec products during the promotion period. Cash rewards are also available for resellers selling smaller amounts. The eligible products include the Symantec Gateway Security 400 and 5400 firewall appliance series as well as Symantec Client Security software — a product offering integrated anti-virus, firewall and intrusion detection capabilities managed through a central console. Those partners managing to sell Symantec Enterprise Security Manager (ESM) and Live State Recovery (LSR) as well are eligible for extra rewards. The scheme, which does not include demonstration units, is available to registered Symantec partners in the region. To participate, resellers can work with various Aptec operations around the region including Aptec Gulf, Aptec Saudi Arabia, Aptec Egypt and Aptec Lebanon.
