PWC Logistics has completed the installation of SSA Global’s EXceed WMS warehouse management system at its Beirut distribution centre. The implementation partner was SPAN Supply Network Solutions, which used BOOMI’s enterprise application integration (EAI) tool to manage the rollout process. “We are the first 3PL provider in Lebanon to offer service using an advanced WMS. Our customers will benefit from more efficient product handling and improved inventory visibility,” said Riad Chababi, PWC’s operations manager in Beirut. “BOOMI’s EAI tool greatly reduces the cost of integrating our WMS with our customers’ systems; what would usually require days can be completed in hours.” “The entire implementation went extremely smoothly,” added Mario Ghosn, services director, SPAN Supply Network Solutions. “Our deep knowledge of the EXceed WMS, combined with PWC’s long experience in using it, greatly facilitated the entire process.” PWC acquired the facility in Lebanon from the Spinneys retail group. Under the agreement, PWC will provide warehousing and distribution services to Spinneys stores in Lebanon for fourteen years. The rollout of the EXceed WMS goes hand in hand with the deployment of LXE handheld computers with wireless networking capability.
