Aramex introduces global tracking

Aramex has introduced a new tracking system that allows packages to be traced throughout the entire delivery cycle. This is possible thanks to the integration of Aramex’s own system with those of its partners in the Global Distribution Alliance (GDA), a network of 40 express couriers recently co-founded by Aramex. “The Aramex Shipment Management System IT platform has been custom-designed to meet the very specific needs of our customers and partners,” says Aramex’s president and chief executive officer, Fadi Ghandour. “We have put thousands of working hours into design, development, testing and implementation efforts to come to where we stand today.” The Global Distribution Alliance (GDA) was formed to help regional express courier companies achieve global coverage. With the new tracking system, warehouse operators and couriers using handheld computers can scan package barcodes and instantly transmit information on the status of shipments. “The unique advantage and significance of this technology platform for Aramex is its ability to integrate with different systems, positioning Aramex as the technology cornerstone of the GDA alliance,” says Adrian Horsley, Aramex International’s vice president, express.
