3Com expands wireless business offer

3Com has expanded its range of WiFi certified WLAN products to include a high-speed, wireless travel router for business travelers.

3Com has expanded its range of WiFi certified WLAN products to include a high-speed, wireless travel router for business travelers. The company’s new OfficeConnect Travel Access Router has been created for use in hotels, conference rooms and offices the world over. The device, which supports up to 16 concurrent users, serves as a secure 54Mbps 802.11g wireless router and includes a Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) firewall and Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA). The firm has also launched a new 54Mbps 802.11g wireless print server, for extending the accessibility of printers over wireless and traditional LAN networks, and a new wireless ‘OfficeConnect’ 108Mbps PC Card that incorporates 3Com’s Xjack antenna. 3Com’s new 802.11g wireless USB adapter completes its latest product roll out. “3Com continues to deliver enterprise-class solutions and functionality for small-and-medium businesses without the complexity and costs normally associated with these products,” said Neal Kaufman, senior director of small business product management, 3Com. “The wireless products that we launched clearly demonstrate 3Com's unique ability to leverage our expertise and competency as a provider of large enterprise networking products, combined with our specialised experience and understand of small-and-medium business needs.” 3Com’s OfficeConnect Wireless 54Mbps 11g Travel Router is priced at $89.99 and should be available in the market over the next few weeks. The immediately available print server costs $120, while the PC Card and USB Adapter cost $79 and $59 respectively.
