Epicor, the mid-market ERP vendor has signed up Middle East Insulation (MEI) and Global Link Communications, two key A &H Al Ghurair Group companies as its latest customers. According to the vendor, its integrated and collaborative modules offered at a competitive price were the key factors that helped it clinch the implementation deals with MEI, one of the region's largest cladding system manufacturers and Global Link, the owner of Radioshack and Telefonika retail outlets. “Both MEI and Global Link being key A & H Al Ghurair group companies, winning these deals is a big marketing gain for us,” says Ziad Aqrabawi, senior country manager for Epicor Scala, Middle East. “The proven successful implementation of iScala MPC across the MENA region in the manufacturing industry has helped us in getting the MEI deal.” In the case of MEI, the iScala manufacturing planning and control (MPC) and project management modules will be in both English and Arabic. The key modules to be implemented include financials, asset management, sales order management, material management, warehouse management, manufacturing planning & control (MPC), supply chain tools, contract management, project management and payroll management. The MPC modules aid in planning, control and execution of all manufacturing activities based on MRP II concepts and work orders. Most repetitive manufacturing and re-manufacturing environments are supported, from assembly through to complex production lines with multiple work centres. It also includes integration to production systems through the manufacturing application integration connectivity solution. Furthermore, the project management modules will help the 11-year old manufacturing division to control the various complex elements of projects such as estimates, budgeting, resource planning and follow-up. With more than 20 outlets in the UAE, Global Link will use the iScala SCM tool to help streamline its supply chain. This the telecom retailer believes will not only help it cut down on waste (through duplication of processes, multiple vendors for same function) but also help it in better planning and forecasting of its demand, supply and configuration requirements. The telecom retailer is integrating its existing Microsoft Retail Management System (MRMS) to the back end ERP application. In the first phase, the iScala implementation will be done at the head office. The warehouse of the company and information from the point of sale (POS) systems will then be transferred to iScala for consolidation. Key modules to be implemented include financials, asset management, sales order management, material management, warehouse management, supply chain tools and payroll management. “Given the diverse requirements of both businesses we required an ERP solution that was both versatile and provided us with a single integrated package. iScala matched our requirements perfectly,” adds Hamad Majid Al Ghurair, managing director, A & H Al Ghurair Group.
